At the end of the meal, our car was brought back around to the entrance before we left our table and the valet had put our go-box in the car for us. Just pull up to the drive through entrance where the valet will greet you, give you a claim check and park your car. Complimentary valet parking is the first customer service perk you will enjoy upon arrival. The exterior sports a barn-like structure that blends in well with the surrounding countryside.

The atmosphere/ambience is more business-like than romantic and I got the distinct impression that a lot of high-stakes wheeling-and-dealing takes place within the dining room of The Artisanal. Unfortunately, there are no intimate tables at The Artisanal in the main dining room so don’t be disappointed if you are seeking a romantic evening and are sitting very close to all other diners.

Since this was our anniversary dinner, when I made reservations I asked that we get a secluded, intimate table for two. You won’t just happen upon it but it is well worth the trip if you are within an hour’s drive. I’m sure the good folks of Banner Elk would challenge the “middle of nowhere” part of that statement but you have to be going there to find this place. What superlatives can I offer about The Artisanal that haven’t already been posted by other TA reviewers? It is literally a world-class restaurant literally in the middle of nowhere.
